Job Accountabilities

90% Real Estate Lending Performance


1. Mortgage and Home Equity Production
• Perform Real Estate lending functions for STCU members accurately, timely, and in alignment with STCU loan standards and procedures:
o Interview and process First Mortgage and Home Equity Loan applications, ensuring accurate information
o Evaluate credit reports and review title reports, appraisals, inspections and supporting documentation; making mortgage loan recommendations and equity loan decisions while conforming to guidelines of STCU policies and/or secondary market guidelines

2. Relationship Development / Service
• Deliver quality service to members in order to develop and nurture real estate relationships and increase referrals.
• Take ownership of issues by acting as the members advocate.  Follow through on all commitments.
• Achieve a high level of efficiency in real estate transactions to meet the members’ needs and maximize production.
• Provide members with solutions to financial needs recommending appropriate STCU products and services. 
• Identify and coordinate opportunities with other departments maximizing their expertise to fulfill corporate objectives and extend financial aide.

3. Compliance, Security and Disaster Recovery
• Maintain knowledge in and adhere to compliance standards for the department.
• Adhere to security procedures and fraud controls to protect members, staff, and assets recommending changes or improvements as needed.
• Recommend changes to the disaster recovery plan for the department.

4. Policies/Procedures/Processes
• Adhere to policies, procedures and established processes for the department.
• Recommend policy / procedural changes and process improvements to assist in the achievement of the strategic goals of the organization.

5. Other Miscellaneous Duties
• Perform additional duties as required by the Real Estate Assistant Manager – Origination & Sales or other designated staff for efficient operation of the credit union; includes the possibility of being assigned temporarily to other locations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School Diploma is required; AA degree or some college is strongly preferred.

2. A minimum of three years mortgage lending experience in a financial services environment. This includes knowledge of mortgage terms, title insurance, and required mortgage processing procedures.

3. Strong communication (verbal and written) to include formal presentation skills.

4. Proficiency in Windows based applications to include the Microsoft Office Suite.

5. Ability to work with diverse groups of people to include members, potential members, employees, and community organizations in a professional and diplomatic manner.

6. Ability to work independently and multi-task with minimal supervision, while effectively identifying, organizing, and prioritizing multiple projects.
 
7.   Meets physical requirements of the job:
• Sitting for long periods of time (with extended periods of standing during presentations, job fairs and workshops, etc.)
• Ability to speak, hear and see
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse 
• Some lifting required (typically no more than ten pounds)
