75% Payroll Performance
1. Payroll Performance
• Process payroll in an integrated HRIS software system, verify hours and reconcile wages and deductions, process ACH.
• Maintain timesheets.
• Calculate benefits/payroll tax deposits and generate payments for payroll liabilities.
• GL Entries - post all the payroll entries to the GL.
• Reports - create, maintain and edit Crystal reports in the HRIS software.
• Advances - load and maintain mid-month advances.
• Payroll deductions - maintain payroll deductions/benefits in coordination with Human Resources.
• Maintain HRIS system - Verify and test payroll and tax updates in HRIS system in coordination with Human Resources.
• Year-end 401(k) audit and census - gather information for yearly audits and reporting.
• Annual and quarterly payroll tax reporting - process and reconcile payroll tax reports.
• Assist in preparation of compensation and benefits budget for the organization.
• Maintain multi-state payroll reporting/processes that keep pace with credit union growth and changing technology.
• Strive for 100% accuracy in all payroll functions without sacrificing efficiency.
• Timely preparation of all payroll tax reports and remittances
• Adapt to conflicting deadlines and priorities established by company demands.
• Approach all responsibilities with the goal of providing unsurpassed service to all employees of the credit union.
• Willingness and ability to expand knowledge base both within the payroll function and the organization.
2. Compliance, Security and Disaster Recovery
• Maintain knowledge in and adhere to compliance standards for the department.
• Ensure compliance with all state and federal tax reporting requirements. Independently research and apply changes in regulations.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Adhere to security procedures and fraud controls to protect members, staff, and assets.
• Recommend changes to the disaster recovery plan for the department.
3. Policies/Procedures/Processes
• Adhere to policies, procedures and established processes for the department.
• Recommend policy / procedural changes and process improvements to assist in the achievement of the strategic goals of the organization.
4. Miscellaneous
• Perform additional duties as required by the Accounting Manager or Director of Accounting and Finance or other designee for efficient operation of the department and/or credit union.
15 % Accounting Daily Duties
1. GL Reconciliations
• Monthly - payroll accounts and other GL accounts as assigned.
2. Federal Tax Deposits
• Maintain spreadsheet and prepare daily form for Fed Line reporting and process GL entry.
• Prepare and reconcile the annual 945 tax report.
3. Reporting
• Prepare monthly FTE and Headcount reports.
4. Reimbursements
• Process and post employee expense reimbursements to employee accounts.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration preferred and at least five years of previous experience completing payroll required.
2. Extensive knowledge of state and federal payroll laws and reporting requirements.
3. Effective written and oral communication skills.
4. Experience with payroll software. Proficient use of a ten-key calculator.
5. Ability to work with staff in other departments professionally.
6. Ability to work with minimal supervision, be self-directed and make independent decisions.
7. Ability to understand company products, operations, utilization, and requirements.
8. Excellent computer skills including a strong proficiency in Excel. Knowledge of Crystal reports.
9. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
10. Meets physical requirements of the job:
