Call before you go!

Avoid card denials when traveling

Traveling out of the area? Don't forget to call STCU before you go and tell us how to reach you.

Why? Because your STCU Visa® credit and debit cards are regularly monitored for fraud, so if your card suddenly racks up charges in Vienna, Victoria, or Vladivostok, your card may be temporarily blocked for your protection until we can reach you to verify the charges.

Take a minute to contact STCU before you travel to maintain safe and reliable use of your cards when and where you need them. Avoid embarrassing purchase denials. And the panic of running out of cash in a strange place.

We invite you to chat with an STCU member service representative during business hours or call STCU at (509) 326-1954 in Washington or (208) 619-4000 in Idaho. Or call us toll free anywhere in the United States at (800) 858-3750. (For after-hours emergencies, use one of the numbers shown below.)

Pack your Visa® benefits

Your STCU Visa does more than just buy stuff. It provides an array of benefits to travelers, including:

  • Travel assistance.
  • Travel accident insurance.
  • Auto rental insurance (credit cards only).
  • Lost card, emergency cash services.
  • Personal identity theft protection and more!

Your card benefits will vary depending on the card you own. Click on your type of Visa (Classic, Gold, Platinum, or CheckCard) from the "Visa disclosures and benefits" list shown on the right. Read the disclosures closely. We recommend you print a copy of your Visa benefits booklet and carry it with you.

Need a cash advance?

It's easy to get a cash advance (subject to fees) with your Visa card at thousands of locations. Here are three ways:

  • Visit any bank or credit union displaying the Visa logo. Using your credit or debit card, ask for a cash advance. No PIN necessary.
  • Look for an ATM displaying any of the logos on the back of your card such as Visa, Plus, and Co-Op. Follow the ATM directions for a cash advance.
  • Visit the Co-Op online directory to locate the nearest ATM.
