  • Do I have to be a teacher to join STCU?

    No. If you live, work, worship, or go to school in the State of Washington, or in Bonner or Kootenai counties in Idaho, you are eligible to join STCU. Learn more

  • How do you verify my identity?

    When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We also ask for your driver's license or other identifying information.

    To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What to expect

It is easy to join STCU online. Before we get started there are a few things you can expect:

  • Joining online can take as little as 10-15 minutes.
  • This site is secure and your information is protected by our Privacy Pledge.
  • There is a one-time membership fee of $20 (students pay $5).
  • The minimum opening deposit is $50 for each account opened online.
  • A standard savings account is required for membership.
