STCU's Hagman named 2008 Volunteer of the Year

Coeur d'Alene honors top community, business volunteer

[October 24, 2008]

Anne Hagman, STCU business development officer for North Idaho, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Coeur d'Alene Chamber of Commerce.

Hagman received the chamber's Ed Abbott Volunteer Award during the October 23 annual meeting of the chamber. Hagman provides STCU financial education and business services to North Idaho businesses and members. She also serves on the chamber's 15-member board of directors.

The volunteer award is named after Ed Abbott, an inspirational and generous former vice president of the chamber's executive board. Abbott died suddenly in 1984 and the Abbott Award was initiated in 1987, making Hagman, in 2008, the 22nd recipient of the award.

Jonathan Coe, president and general manager of the chamber, told the Coeur d'Alene Press newspaper that the award is "the hallmark of all chamber awards."

STCU operates two branch locations in Kootenai County -- Post Falls Branch and Silver Lake Branch.
