State of the Region Community Forum

Your chance to question leaders on community economic issues

[September 23, 2009]

How is the Inland Northwest faring in the tough national economy, and how are cutbacks affecting education, health services, transportation, and vital government services?

No one is better prepared to address those issues than the people making the decisions, training the workforce, and feeling the pinch.

Just such a panel will gather the evening of October 7 at the State of the Region Community Forum, which will be recorded for later radio and cable television broadcasts.

You're invited to attend the free event at Spokane City Hall. Audience questions will help set the path of the discussion.

"Although every forum has a life of its own, we hope to talk about how we got here, where our region is in comparison to the rest of the nation, where are we going, and how fast the recovery will take," said Kathy Sackett, event director for Spokane Public Radio.

Panelists scheduled for the event are:

The moderator will be John Vlahovich, news director for Spokane Public Radio, which is hosting the event in partnership with City Cable 5. Spokane Journal of Business Assistant Editor Paul Read will help field questions, along with Doug Nadvornick, North Idaho bureau chief for Spokane Public Radio.

STCU is among the sponsors.
