High noon for crooks

Our fraud busters are sticking up for you

People want your money. And STCU wants to make sure they don’t get it without your permission.

Our tellers and other staff are “fraud busters” who last year prevented an estimated $1.1 million in member losses by noticing when things seem awry.

Click here or on the image to the right to read about their good work and pick up tips for protecting yourself from scams by reading the spring issue of our quarterly magazine, OSI.

Paper copies of OSI arrive at members’ homes in May, so you can carry a copy to your favorite reading spot. (Might we suggest a sunny afternoon in the back yard, with an Adirondack chair and a sweaty glass of sun tea?) As spring reads go, it has fewer plot twists than Grisham, and more optimism than Stegner.

Online or on paper, you’ll find that fraud prevention story in OSI, and a whole lot more. Here’s a glance at what’s inside:

  • News about Money Live, a fun program that helps teens learn adult lessons about personal finance. The first lesson: It’s free!

  • “Board” games to make you an expert on the people elected by members to make sure STCU sticks to the straight and narrow.

  • A look at the eerie similarities between our CEO and Jimmy Stewart.

  • Tidbits that will make you smarter, happier, healthier, thinner, stronger, funnier, better-smelling and more appealing to the opposite sex.*
