Liberty Lake Branch breaks ground

First "green" branch for STCU

[Nov. 14, 2007]

The long-anticipated STCU Liberty Lake Branch is under construction.

The STCU Board of Directors, executives, branch managers, and community leaders broke ground November 13 on the credit union's twelfth branch location. The branch will also be the first to follow strict environmental, or "green," construction standards.

The branch could open as early as April 2008.

Located at the northwest corner of East Appleway Avenue and North Madson Street, the site is two blocks east of STCU headquarters in Liberty Lake.

"This is an exciting day for STCU and Liberty Lake," STCU President and CEO Steve Dahlstrom told the crowd of 50 guests huddled together on the frigid, windy morning. "We've opened branches to the north, the south, in Idaho, and downtown Spokane, and now we're opening one on our home court. Let's move that dirt!"

The branch location will offer full-service banking services, including a 24-hour ATM, a Drive-Thru, consumer and business loans, credit and debit cards, savings accounts, and financial education.

Vandervert Construction is building the new branch, which was designed by Bernardo Wills Architects. Pictured on this page are construction workers in December 2007.
