Teachers meet 'Mudgy & Millie'

STCU presents interactive children's book at library

[September 30, 2008]

STCU and Kootenai County third grade school teachers on September 24 followed Mudgy the moose and Millie the mouse all the way to the Coeur d'Alene Public Library to celebrate release of the new interactive children's book, "Mudgy & Millie."

The credit union hosted a reception at the library for the teachers, presenting each with a copy of the colorfully illustrated book.

"Mudgy & Millie" tells the story of a friendly moose who travels from Tubbs Hill to the beautiful shores of Lake Coeur d'Alene looking for his mouse buddy. Readers can literally follow the Mudgy Moose Trail, stopping at several locations where bronze statues of the characters have been donated by local businesses.

STCU co-sponsored Mudgy & Millie's statue at the public library, one of the stops in the adventure.

Author Susan Nipp and sculptor Terry Lee autographed copies, read from the book, and taught children a special song and dance that accompanied the story. Guests enjoyed moose tracks ice cream and pictures with Mudgy.
