We announced that STCU's new online banking system would begin in April 2010. What happened?

We're glad you asked. Can you guess what happened?

We didn't have enough money for cab fare.
An old friend came in from out of town.
There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts.
As hundreds of real STCU members beta tested the new system, they discovered enough important glitches to persuade us to delay the project until June 8, 2010. We want to get it right!

If you guessed No. 4, you're a genuis! If you guessed 1, 2, or 3, you're a certifed hard-core Blues Brothers movie fan. And maybe a genius, too.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work hard to ensure the best and most secure online banking system around. We are now able to announce that, barring any unforeseen problems, you'll see a completely new website design on June 8, 2010, and begin to experience our new online banking system on or near that time.

Update your contact information!

To ensure a smooth transition to STCU's new online banking, you'll want to verify and update your contact information in advance:

Log into online banking.
Open the "Actions" drop-down list.
Click on "Update Contact Info."
Verify or update your phone numbers, e-mail address, street or postal address.
If you make changes, enter your member password and click on "SAVE CHANGES."
If you have no changes, click on "Cancel" to return back to online banking.

New features

STCU's new online banking will give you the power to initiate a whole lot more features to help manage your money in ways you may have never thought possible. Some examples:

Create nicknames for every checking, savings, and loan account. Name one car loan "Ford" and the other "Honda." Name a savings account "wedding," then change it to "nursery" a few years later.
Transfer money between your STCU accounts and accounts held at other financial institutions. Send your college student money from home!
Create account alerts to warn when your account balance is getting low. Or when it's your wedding anniversary.
Get help from STCU with secure, private messaging.
Review your financial habits by sorting transactions by name, date, or type, just like a spreadsheet.
Switch back and forth to STCU's borrowing, saving, and belonging information without having to open a new browser window.

STCU's new online banking will save you time and require fewer clicks, but let's be honest. Change can be challenging at first. It may take you three or four times to get used to it.

Once you've spent some time exploring the changes and features, we think you're going to love the new face of online banking.

What's not changing?

Another good question. Here are three things that won't change after the launch of STCU's new online banking:

The cost. Online banking -- and STCU's billpay -- will continue to be free of charge to any STCU member!
Ironclad security. In fact, the new system will be more secure after you upgrade your password, increasing the odds that no one will ever hack your account.
Access. Online banking will continue to be available to you 24 hours a day from your computer or handheld device.

Getting started

If you bank online at STCU, we'll be sending more information to your home around June 2010, showing you the basic steps to get started and how to use some of the new online banking features. Until that time, we recommend that you take a moment to verify your contact information, as described in the box above.
