We call it a "security code." It meets federal regulations to protect consumers from unauthorized access to your accounts.
Here's how it works:
If you want, you can always change your first password and second security code later.
Why is STCU making me add a second password or "security code?"
Federal regulators are mandating that all financial institutions provide a second layer of security to access accounts by telephone or Internet.
When will this change take effect?
The change goes into effect November 15, 2007.
Can I use my old CATT password?
Yes, your current CATT password can still be your first password. However, your second password, or "security code," must be a minimum of six and a maximum of 10 numbers.
How secure is a six-digit password?
The odds of someone guessing a four-digit number is 1 in 10,000, but the odds of someone guessing a six-digit number is a long shot 1 in 1,000,000. A 10-digit password is even more secure.
