Dedicated to serving our community

STCU does more than take deposits and make loans. We reach out to your community with strategic gifts that support local arts and culture, schools, and fundraising efforts for important causes consistent with the mission and purpose of the credit union.

In addition, countless numbers of STCU employees volunteer in your community, working to make a difference. Some of these efforts, both past and present, include:

Community outreach

STCU is committed to our members and our community. We are involved in community outreach with organizations that work for the betterment of society such as: Credit Unions for Kids/Children’s Miracle Network, Cancer Patient Care, Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, Women Helping Women Fund, Corbin Senior Center, Second Harvest Food Bank, YWCA/YMCA, and Southside Senior Center…just to name a few.

Schools and universities

We honor and support education in our community by being involved with: Community Colleges of Spokane emergency scholarship fund and the Exceptional Faculty Award, Eastern Washington University one-room schoolhouse project, Whitworth University, Washington State University and all school districts that we serve, covering almost 200 individual schools.

School partners

Employees at nearly every branch and headquarters of STCU have "adopted" a nearby school to mentor needy children and provide professional resources to teachers and staff. Employees collect toys, food, and clothing for a family selected by the school during the holiday season. Our partners include:

Arts and culture

Spokane has a great arts and culture community, which we support at STCU. The credit union is actively involved and supports:  Spokane Symphony, Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC), ArtFest, SFCC Fine Art Exhibition, and the Fox Theater Campaign.

We may not have the largest gifting budget in the world, but we make a concerted effort to touch as many charitable organizations as possible. At STCU, we care!
