STCU member since 2006,
CDFCU member since 2012.

"I trust STCU."

The EWU grad, fisheries biologist, and full-time mom sees the merger of STCU and CDFCU as a perfect fit for Omak.

Kirsten joined STCU at the Cheney branch during her undergrad years at Eastern Washington University. She kept her STCU membership active after moving back home to Omak, financing a credit card, auto loan, and RV loan, all online.

“A little bit Omak, a little bit Spokane.”

She realizes that being able to visit a branch when you need to is still important, and has always appreciated the local service that CDFCU provides. STCU remains committed to maintaining face-to-face member service.

“I like banking local, without the fees of the bigger banks,” said Kirsten. “Having STCU here will keep that ease of access, and be great for our community.”

D.I.Y., STCU-style.

“Banking online has been a wonderful experience,” Kirsten said. “It’s been easy and relaxed. And I love that I can deposit a check right on my phone.”

Online banking and the STCU mobile app are free, powerful tools that let you manage your money on your own terms, wherever you are.

You can apply for a loan, check your credit score, and open a new account in the app and online banking.

“I recently opened up a few accounts online — a separate checking account for bills, and for my daughter, Lakiyah,” said Kirsten. “And once I got her set up, setting up auto transfers to her was super easy.”

“We make a good team.”

Kirsten’s nine-year-old daughter, Lakiyah, is also a member of both CDFCU and STCU. She’s saving up for a truck (red, with heated seats), and college.

“I want her to know how to manage her own money and start planning for the future,” said Kirsten.

For now, though, Lakiyah enjoys time in saddle with her horse, Oakey, and spending time with her mom on the river.

“Life’s an adventure, and we have fun together,” Kirsten said. “I want her to have every opportunity she can.”
