NEWPORT, Wash - STCU’s Here for Good Foundation has awarded a $10,000 grant to the Hospitality House of Newport to help update the community center's flooring.

The grant was inspired by the generosity and community spirit shown by local residents and businesses, such as Sherwin-Williams, who recently volunteered their time and supplies to paint the interior of the center.

Hospitality House is a non-profit organization that serves as a community center and gathering place for local residents. The center hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including senior activities, children's programs, and community events.

“We hope this grant will inspire others to contribute and support this wonderful organization," says STCU Community Relations Director Traci McGlathery. "We are thrilled to contribute to such an important community center that serves as a hub for events and gatherings for Newport residents. The Hospitality House plays an integral role in bringing people together, and it's our honor to support them in their efforts to enhance the center's facilities."

The Here for Good Foundation was launched on January 31 with surprise grants of $10,000 to five different community funds. It provides grants to schools and non-profit organizations located in Eastern and Central Washington, Tri-Cities, and North Idaho. One of the foundation's inaugural grants was a contribution to the Newport Community Fund.
